Search operators

To find a specific document on our website, you can refine your search engine query by using logical operators and special characters.

The search engine allows you to give a fuzzy definition of a search criterion or to combine several search words within the same query.

Special characters in a search string:

? Use the question mark as a wildcard for a single character in a search string, for instance, in cases where you are not quite sure about the spelling: 'Scre?' will find 'Screw'. 
  
*  Use an asterisk as a wildcard to represent several character within a search string. For instance, 'color*' would find both 'color' and 'colors'.

You can combine two words with an operator:

AND The search will only find documents that contain both words.
 
OR The search will find all documents that contain at least one of the two words.
 
NOT The search will find all documents that contain the first word, but not the second one.
